Huawei will Launch Ascend W1 Windows Phone 8 in December

Huawei's first Windows Phone 8, the Ascend W1, will be officially announced in December, said by insiders. This handset is believed to introduce to Chinese users on the last ten days of next month.

The Ascend W1 would had been announced on Microsoft event on October 29. However, Huawei absented for the premiere because of problems with Microsoft. The phone lost a good chance to show itself to audience worldwide.

Some of the specifications of Huawei Ascend W1:

• Display: 4.0'' display with WVGA resolution
• OS: Windows Phone 8
• Processor: 1.2GHz Dual Core processor (with 400MHz dedicated GPU)
• RAM: 512 MB
• Storage: 4 GB
• Camera: 5.0MP rear camera, 0.3MP VGA front-facing camera
• Battery: 2000 mAh

As to the price, the Ascend W1 is rumored to be sold at 2,499RMB (around $400) in China. Moreover, Huawei is planning to launch overseas version of this smartphone, probably priced at $300 and above.
